Taipei, Taiwan – Protech Systems Co., Ltd., an ISO-certified producer of computer devices for use in data-intensive manufacturing, retail and automation-based industries, has established another hallmark for quality and performance with the EF-22LF ARM-based motherboard, a unit that offers the benefits of a Win CE platform for use in a wide range of industrial, retail and consumer-product applications.
The EF-22LF, which comes with the Freescale IMX 21 CPU capable of operating at speeds of up to 266MHz, gives the manufacturer and developer alike a way to incorporate highly reliable RISC technology for fast processing, low energy consumption and overall cost-effectiveness. Moreover, the use of the Freescale CPU ensures the EF-22LF’s compatibility with the Windows CE 5.0 operating system, while the compact format allows it to fit nearly any contemporary computing environment from a hand-held device on up to a high-tech factory assembly system. LAN support and a USB 1.1 port are provided, as is an SD/MMC slot. Support for 18-bit VGA is onboard, along with two serial ports (COM1/COM2) and a touch-panel connector.
A significant benefit of the EF-22LF is its ability to run on 10V~30V current. Accordingly, it lends itself to powered and self-powered applications in markets around the world. Thus the potential applications include aviation, POS (point of sale) outlets and kiosks, gaming and multimedia systems, medical equipment and diagnostics systems, factory automation, telecommunications and testing, aviation and hand-held industrial devices. Built to the highest standards of integrity and fully ROHS-compliant, the EF-22LF represents a considerable value at a price point suitable for bulk or limited-run purchase. |
