TAIPEI, TAIWAN, June 1, 2005: Protech Systems proudly debuts a BTX form factor industrial motherboard built on Intel's latest platform. The new board, PMB-551, is engineered with the Intel® Pentium® M processor 760, the Intel® E7520 chipset north bridge of 533/400MHz FSB and the Intel® 6300ESB I/O Controller Hub (ICH) south bridge for excellent system performance.
The BTX (Balanced Technology Extended) specification is based on standards that enable more efficient development of future industrial computing systems. The BTX form factor provides for a better thermal control solution as well as reduces noise levels, making it ideal for industrial applications
The PMB-551 is an extremely flexible industry-level motherboard. It features two PCI Express x 8, one PCI Express x 4, two PCI-X and one PCI slots. Users can add additional function cards through these interfaces, and whether they use an old-fashioned PCI modem card or a rising PCI Express VGA card, their needs will no longer be limited by an insufficient function bus.
A faster processor needs faster and wider network connections in order to fulfill their promise of delivering a competitive edge. Therefore, the PMB-551 was designed with two Intel® Gigabit Ethernet Controllers, whose LAN ports offer users optimized Gigabit networking speeds. In addition, PMB-551 supports DDR2 memory up to 4GB RAM and two of the latest Serial ATA interfaces at up to 150MB/s for each port that accelerate the speed of data transmission.
With its optimal thermal control and flexible expansion capabilities, the PMB-551 can also be an ideal solution for servers and workstations.
